The Musico Method

A Holistic Approach to goaltending

  • ON ICE

Individual coaching is what you need to make the right adjustments to your game to get the results you want. This isn't a goalie session with multiple kids sharing one drill and not learning the details. This is an annual plan of development that is mapped out in stages focusing on weaknesses first and building your game from your head to your feet.

Either someone is teaching you to do something wrong or they are allowing it to be wrong. Both are equally negative.

  • OFF ICE

This doesn't mean "working out". This means TRAINING. Focused specifically on the details off the ice that lead to better performance on the ice. Approach your development from the aspects that need to be addressed first. No need to over flow a bucket that is already full.

This includes many aspects of high performance athletes that get overlooked like Prehab, Warm Up, Mobility, Strength, Power, Speed, Conditioning, Recovery, Hydration, Sleep, and Nutrition.

  • Cognitive

Be a student of the game and never stop learning. Cognitive development is an amazing tool to improve performance. Watching mistakes and successes can program the mind to process those scenarios faster when reinforced correctly.

This is where everything ties in holistically. Video Review, Mental Guidance , and Emotional Management help broaden perspectives to help understand the whole picture.

The Why

The word "holism" comes from the Greek word holo, which means "whole". It refers to the theory that all parts of a whole are closely connected, and that it's a mistake to study just one part or multiple parts separately if you want to understand how they work together.
